Winter Classics with Camel Milk

Whether you are someone who hates the cold, or you can’t imagine anything better than sitting near your fireplace with a warm cup of cocoa, we can all agree that winter food is simply delicious. There are a few winter classics that we’ve selected for you that can keep the cold away, make your taste buds dance with enjoyment, and if made properly, bring your family closer during the perfect holidays seasons that are just around the corner.

But there is a twist! Instead of ordinary milk, for our recipes, we’ll use camel milk which not only tastes great but also has many health benefits associated with it. It is much richer with minerals and has higher levels of vitamins A, B2 and C, as well as a much lower cholesterol than the cow milk we use every day.

Hot Chocolate

Is there a better treat for young ones than a tasty cup of hot chocolate topped with a few marshmallows? Actually, this delicacy can be enjoyed by anyone, and with camel milk, it can even be a healthier version for everyone. While half a liter of milk is enough for two glasses, you can adjust the recipe accordingly.

  • 2 cups of camel milk (around 500ml)
  • Cocoa powder (we prefer the unsweetened version)
  • Vanilla extract
  • Cinnamon (optional)
  • Marshmallow (optional)

Dissolve a teaspoon of cocoa in each glass with a bit of milk, and put the rest in a saucepan, add vanilla and heat on medium. Do not let it boil and pour carefully in cups while stirring. Add a bit of cinnamon on top and a few pieces of marshmallow. Serve while hot.

  • 1 1/2 cup of camel milk
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon of ground turmeric
  • Honey (according to taste)

Add coconut oil in a saucepan and add milk – don’t let it boil, and whisk it all the time, make it as frothy as possible. Add turmeric and honey and pour into mugs. With a dash of cinnamon, this will make the ultimate winter classic recipe for you and your family.


Camel Milk Scones

These camel milk scones go great with a scoop of ice cream on top! The recipe is simple. All you need is:

  • 2 cups flour (self-raising)
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar
  • Half a cup of camel milk, plus a little bit for glazing

Preheat the oven to 200°C or 390°F. Place all dry ingredients in a bowl and add butter with your fingers, until you get a mixture that is like breadcrumbs. Add a beaten egg and camel milk. Stir until the dough is prepared. Knead it further, and press into a circle that is half a centimetre thick; cut out scones, place them on the baking tray and glaze them with camel milk. Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Bon appétit!
